Hello!
The heating was on in a 14 earlier (fleet no. 67341 if I was reading the right number!). Whilst it was amusing watching the ways people kept themselves cool (one woman even produced a massive old fashioned fan from her bag), a small child nearly fainted from the heat which was less good!
Also, very nosey question: the drivers seem to be filling out some kind of form when they change over. I’ve never seen it before the last week, but they do seem to be taking said form Very Seriously. Can you let us in on what it is?!

Thanks Megan! We will alert our Engineering department to this vehicle so they can take a look! The heaters should not be on at the moment, but they are not controlled by the driver, so if there is a problem, the driver is not able to do anything about it 😦 We’ll try to get it sorted on this bus for you.
In answer to your ‘nosey’ question…. they are filling in the vehicle report card. This is a legal document on which the driver has to record his name (so we know who has driven the vehicle between which times) and anything that they notice about the condition of the vehicle. They must also read everything that the previous drivers have noted so that they are aware. Our engineers then use these cards when they check the buses in the evening so they can fix any issues. Obviously, if a problem will affect the safety of our passengers or staff, the vehicle will be taken off the road until it can receive maintanence, so generally these cards record only more minor problems, such as scratches or non-safety critical faults. It is really important that each new driver reads and fills this in, so we really appreciate everyone’s patience as they do this.
I hope this answers your question! If you have any others, just give us a shout!
